How can I get involved?
We are always seeking enthusiastic students, whether you want to create content online, in print or on film. Don’t worry about experience – whether you’ve been involved in student media for years or never approached it before, we would love your contribution. Pi Media offers a dynamic and supportive environment to develop your journalistic style. Maybe you want to report on campus news? Or voice your opinion on politics, music or the environment? Perhaps you’re a budding designer? Or you have a personal story to share? Whatever your idea, we can project your voice to students on campus.
The first point of contact for prospective and current writers are section editors, who work with the Editors-in-Chief. Don’t worry if you aren’t sure exactly who to contact - all editors are happy to answer queries and point you in the right direction. If you want to work on video projects specifically, please contact our PiTV Editor-in-Chief. More interested in the visuals? To join the creative team working across our outlets, please contact the Heads of Design and Photography.
You can contact us all on our Slack workspace, via email, or reach out on our social media: @uclpimedia on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.
Membership
Before we edit, produce or publish your first article, video or design, you need to officially become a member of the Pi Media team. Our annual membership price is £10 – this funds all content and activities for the year. You can purchase membership through our page on the Students’ Union Website.
With your membership you will be added to our mailing list, with regular commissions and notifications of upcoming events, as well as information on various opportunities we have to share with you - like internships and media passes.
