Valentine’s Day, whichever way you look at it, is not usually a fun day for single people. Surrounded by merchandise covered in love hearts, cringe-worthy selfies and romantic tweets galore, it’s easy to feel a strong sense of hatred for this day dedicated to ‘love’. GO TO AN ANTI-VALENTINE’S DAY PARTY
‘Bounce’, in Holborn, is holding a UV ping pong session on the 14th. A ticket includes unlimited UV ping pong all night, UV face painters, and a live art installation. To add to the fun, the club are bringing out the ‘love police’, who will be taking mugshots of anyone who breaks the anti-Valentine’s rules.

This Valentine’s Day, the Grove Bar and Restaurant are putting on a ‘Battle of the Sexes’ stand-up comedy show. With a wide range of comedians performing, be prepared to laugh. Lots. Tickets are super cheap, and include a Happy Hour and à la carte food discounts.

EAT OUT ALONE WITHOUT FEELING LONELY
Zizzi in St Giles has teamed up with Tastebuds.fm to create an event specially for singletons. They’ve banned couples from their restaurant for the night, and instead are offering live music, food and drink. Starting at 7pm, there’s unlimited prosecco for the first hour, followed by canapes and wine tasting for £10.

ANOTHER ANTI-VALENTINE’S DAY PARTY
This one is held at Ma’Plucker. Expect an abundance of drag queens, free flowing drinks, and fried chicken. There’s also a lip sync battle. Chicken AND karaoke?! It’d be rude not to.
