It’s that time of year again, as we gear up for the UCLU Spring Elections with nominations for most positions opening today. The list of positions have been revamped to accommodate the new 7.5 sabbatical officer roles. Full-time sabbatical officer roles for the 2015-16 academic year are as follows:

ACTIVITIES & EVENTS OFFICER

As a result of the failed General Assembly and the following emergency Union Council meeting on Tuesday 20th January, the position of the Institute of Education Students’ Officer will be determined as either part-time or full-time by a referendum which will be taking place between 29th January and 2nd February. Nominations for this role will open on the 3rd of February.

There will also be 6 part-time positions that students can run for:

ACTIVITIES OFFICER

COMMUNITY RELATIONS OFFICER

EXTERNAL ACCOMMODATION OFFICER

HALLS ACCOMMODATION REPRESENTATIVE

OFFICER FOR STUDENTS WITH CARING RESPONSIBILITIES

SUSTAINABILITY OFFICER

The two Liberation Officers roles are Disabled Students’ Officer and LGBT+ Officer. The full list of all 24 available positions can be found here.

Nominations can be entered here, and they close on Monday 9th February at 10am.

We will have an exciting month ahead in the lead up to the elections, as Pi keeps you up to date with all the latest on the candidates and their campaigns, before voting actually begins on 26th February.
