Review: Feast London

REBECCA PINNINGTON REVIEWS THE NEW INNOVATION IN LATE NIGHT EATS

Ever been on a long trek to your local Chicken Cottage after a big night in Loop? Haven’t we all. Students probably love a 3am meal more than any other group, but it’s difficult to access anything good quality, or that isn’t 80% grease.

But perhaps this is about to change. New start-up Feast London delivers food between the hours of 11pm and 5am for those of us looking for something a bit more special than a Maccies, partnering with a diverse range of restaurants to fill this gap in the market.

Founder Simon Pusey aims to give people a choice of quality food at a time when previously there was none. “I’m amazed how London shuts down on weekdays after 11pm, and how there are no services available, even with a huge population of different cultures, ages, and professions, not to mention the vibrant student scene.”

Currently Feast is partnered with Bamboo Box (Thai), Polo Bar (Traditional English), The Monsoon (Indian), Beigel Bake (bagels), and Dum Dums (Doughnuts). From November they will also be partnering with London’s famous 24-hour restaurants, Balans and Vingt Quatre, and should soon be offering pizza and American-style food too.

We tried a selection of food from Feast’s partner restaurants to see what all the fuss is about, and whether we’d want to use their service rather than walking down to the local kebab shop.

“The other day me and my mates went on a massive, epic trek to find a hotdog at half past twelve and just couldn’t find anything. This sort of service would be exactly what we needed at that time.” Rafy Hay

“I wouldn’t go to Shoreditch at 5am to get doughnuts, but I wouldn’t say no to having them delivered to me.” Izzy Cutts

“Based on the selection we tried, Feast do a good variety of foods. The Thai green curry was especially great.” Wyndham Hacket Pain

“I thought it was really great, lots of variety, and I loved the Thai. It’s definitely a service I’d use in the future.” Holly Philipps

“The food was really good, and I liked the variety. I can imagine I would love the chicken fingers after a big night out, I’d expect they’re quite in demand.” Mary Newman
