The eighth edition of the UCL Leaders’ Conference will take place on the 26th and 27th of January in the new year. The annual event brings together students, professionals and researchers interested in discussing today’s most pressing issues. They will expand each other’s knowledge on subjects of shared interest, according to the conference’s project leader Janek Romanowski.

The overarching theme of the conference will be ‘adapting to the digital age.’ Four speaker panels will take place to address the influence of new technologies on various fields and how industry leaders are adjusting to the changing landscape.

Here are the topics covered in each panel:

• Politics panel: impact of technology on campaigns and the legislative process

• Art panel: implications of AI for the arts

• Business panel: corporate strategies amid digital transformation

• Technology and science panel: accessibility of science in the digital age

A diverse range of international panelists will attend, including established academics, politicians, artists, and entrepreneurs. Their names will be announced on UCL Leaders’ website and social media over the coming weeks, according to Janek.

The two-day event will also include a series of workshops on political analysis, private equity, and public speaking. Attendees will have the chance to network with industry specialists hosting these workshops. The previous conference welcomed notable coaches, artists, and media experts from CNN. Participants of UCL Leaders will have to register for the workshops, only some of them will be chosen due to limited spaces.

Tickets for the conference will be released shortly before Christmas on UCL Leaders’ website and social media channels. A limited number of early-bird tickets will be available first at a discounted price, then regular tickets will be offered until the event ends. For the previous edition, early-bird tickets were sold at £40 and regular tickets at £50.

The UCL Polish Society initiated the first edition of UCL Leaders in 2017 as a forum for Polish students in the UK to discuss domestic affairs with leading experts. Since 2022, the conference has adopted a more international perspective in terms of participants and topics covered.

UCL Leaders 2023 welcomed on-site 230 participants from 17 countries, with more watching the panels remotely.
