UCL Examinations Timetable Release Delayed

UCL HAS ANNOUNCED THAT THE RELEASE OF THIS YEARS SUMMER EXAMINATIONS TIMETABLE HAS BEEN DELAYED UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE.

Traditionally released at the end of second term, their release had been expected a month early this year, on Monday 29 February, following lobbying by UCLU, as outlined earlier this month in an enthusiastic meme filled blog by Education and Campaigns officer, Wahida Samie.

Amidst construction works around campus and the conversion of old exam venues, such as the Jeremy Bentham Room, into cafes, UCL has struggled to find enough venues to fit its 2,000 exams and 80,000 exam sittings, and to schedule these whilst avoiding clashes.

Registrar and Head of UCL Student and Registry Services, Wendy Appleby, stated:

We are not aware of another university that delivers so many exams at one time in the summer period.”

Irritated History of Art finalist, Isobel Cutts, said:

It’s just annoying to be told we are going to get the timetable for once, and then to have it delayed, and hidden away in a random email. There’s so much going on with final exams and dissertations that students need to prepare for and there are no valid reasons as to why the timetable is always released so inconveniently late!”

Undergraduate examinations are set to run between 28 April and 27 May this year, whilst postgraduates can expect theirs between 28 April and 9 June. But on which dates your exams fall likely wont be known for some weeks yet.
