UCL graduates are the third most employable in Britain
HOLLY PHILIPPS REPORTS ON THE LATEST RANKING STATISTICS
The latest Global Employability University Survey and Ranking of 150 universities has ranked UCL students as the third most employable in Britain, and 14th globally.
The list, compiled by a French Human Resources consultancy and a German polling institute, places Cambridge University at the top, closely followed by Harvard, Yale and Oxford. The rankings are based on interviews with 4,500 recruiters in 20 different countries.
The results show a heavy emphasis on ‘global’ universities, perhaps explaining why UCL is ranked so highly. Although the top places are mainly Western, the research shows a rise in Asian universities in the rankings, with the researchers suggesting that they could take over the top places in years to come.
The results give UCL students something to celebrate. UCL is the highest ranked London university, beating Imperial and King’s College London who came 15th and 35th respectively.
